Ber­ri­gan’s busy week

Ber­ri­gan Pub­lic School will cel­e­brate Ed­u­ca­tion Week with a full five days of events demon­strat­ing how, as a school, it is busy cre­at­ing a fu­ture.

On Mon­day, the staff and in­ter­ested par­ents will travel to Oak­lands to lis­ten to Dr Michael Carr-Gregg, one of Aus­tralia’s high pro­file psy­chol­o­gists, speak­ing on Un­der­stand­ing and Com­mu­ni­cat­ing with chil­dren and young ado­les­cents.

On Tues­day, the school will be in­volved with the of­fi­cial open­ing of Ed­u­ca­tion Week for the Rive­rina re­gion at De­niliquin, via video con­fer­enc­ing (VC).

The students will com­pete in the Rive­rina South West Video Wii Olympic Chal­lenge be­ing run in con­junc­tion with the Olympic Games.

This will in­volve the school com­pet­ing against other schools in the re­gion, again via VC.

On Thurs­day, Ber­ri­gan PS will have an Open Day which in­volves a Book Fair from 9am to 2pm.

There will also be a chance to view work done by students in the class­room with the Open Class­rooms from 11.30am to 1pm.

There will be a whole school static dis­play in the hall, show­cas­ing work from the class­room and other projects.

On the same day, from 1pm, par­ents and stu- dents are in­vited to stay for a sausage siz­zle cooked by the P&C. Ber­ri­gan Pub­lic School strives to meet the in­di­vid­ual needs of ev­ery child in aca­demic, so­cial and phys­i­cal do­mains.

It of­fers a com­pre­hen­sive cur­ricu­lum with em­pha­sis on lit­er­acy, nu­mer­acy, the en­vi­ron­ment, sport­ing and cul­tural pur­suits.
