Berrigan’s busy week
Berrigan Public School will celebrate Education Week with a full five days of events demonstrating how, as a school, it is busy creating a future.
On Monday, the staff and interested parents will travel to Oaklands to listen to Dr Michael Carr-Gregg, one of Australia’s high profile psychologists, speaking on Understanding and Communicating with children and young adolescents.
On Tuesday, the school will be involved with the official opening of Education Week for the Riverina region at Deniliquin, via video conferencing (VC).
The students will compete in the Riverina South West Video Wii Olympic Challenge being run in conjunction with the Olympic Games.
This will involve the school competing against other schools in the region, again via VC.
On Thursday, Berrigan PS will have an Open Day which involves a Book Fair from 9am to 2pm.
There will also be a chance to view work done by students in the classroom with the Open Classrooms from 11.30am to 1pm.
There will be a whole school static display in the hall, showcasing work from the classroom and other projects.
On the same day, from 1pm, parents and stu- dents are invited to stay for a sausage sizzle cooked by the P&C. Berrigan Public School strives to meet the individual needs of every child in academic, social and physical domains.
It offers a comprehensive curriculum with emphasis on literacy, numeracy, the environment, sporting and cultural pursuits.
