Gallant Bloods no match for Strathy
Tocumwal travelled to Strathmerton on Saturday for a Round 5 matchup in the Murray Valley Cricket Association Premier Grade.
The Bloods started the proceedings with the bat.
It was an even contribution of runs this week, and for a second week in a row M Barker was the top scorer ending the innings on 41 not out.
Other batting performances were Ben Lucus 32 and J Poynton 17.
Tocumwal batted out the 45 overs, closing out the innings for 136.
The talented Strathmerton team reached this target in the 20th over and only losing two wickets.

Congratulations to Brandon Meloury for his first game in the Premier side.
Division Two The Tocumwal side were set to play the Barooga 2 side on Saturday, but won the game on forfeit.
Tocumwal played Cobram on Friday night.
Tocumwal batted in week one of this match against Cobram with Brandon Meloury again a stand-out ending his batting innings on 52 not out.
Other batting performances for Tocumwal were J Wallace on 14.
The boys batted out the 40 overs and were 6/124 at the conclusion of their innings.
The ‘Meloury’ show continued with brother Bryce taking out the bowling honours this week with a great spell of 4/10 off 6 overs.
Other bowling stats for Tocumwal were J Wallace 2/12 off 4, and J Barker and T Saunders one wicket each.
Good team effort all around — keep up the great work and hopefully we will post a few more wins.
Under 14s Tocumwal played Jerilderie on Saturday.
Tocumwal batted in the first week of this game, and were all out for 50.
Batting stand-out for this match was Jesse Barker making 33.
Other batting performances were D Robinett (3) and T Saunders (2).
Jerilderie took to the crease this week feeling confident they would make this total and, sadly for this young Toc side, that was the case.
The promising sign for this side is that there were six of their eight bowlers took at least one wicket, but M Gibson was the stand-out taking 2/13 off 3.
Stick with it boys, you are young and there are quite a few first season players.
Your enthusiasm will surely pay off shortly.
Under 12s Tocumwal played Cobram Yarroweyah United on Saturday.
CYU batted first this week and with a couple of big hitters in the side set a great target of 162 for our youngsters to chase.
The bowling this week was R Bourne 2/5 off 2, H White, Shem and H Paganonie with one wicket each off of their two overs.
This Tocumwal side have made some great scores recently, so gave themselves a chance of getting this score.
T Barker with bonus runs was the top batting scorer on 14 and eight players, while not making any runs, did not lose their wickets so scored the bonus runs for the side.
It was an awesome effort by this team to only lose three wickets.
Unfortunately they ended their innings on 125.
The major difference this week was the fact that Tocumwal bowled 40 wides.
If we can just bowl a few less it would have been a very close game — great work team.
