For­mer Fin­ley man Dion Sul­li­van has helped Aus­tralian bare­foot ski­iers make his­tory at the re­cent World Bare­foot Wa­ter Ski Ti­tles.

Held in Texas, the world ti­tles re­sulted in three Aus­tralian teams win­ning, break­ing the USA’s dom­i­nate reign.

Sul­li­van won a gold medal in the win­ning se­nior team, which is for ski­iers over 35 years-old.

He fin­ished 11th in the tricks sec­tion, sixth in the slalom, fourth in the jumps sec­tion and was the fifth best over­all.

Dur­ing the cham­pi­onships he jumped a per­sonal best of 20.6 me­tres.

Sul­li­van said he would like to thank his spon­sors Ba­rooga Sports Club, Mul­wala Wa­ter Ski Club, Mur­ray Goul­burn work mates and the Vic­to­rian State Gov­ern­ment.

He also thanked his fam­ily and friends for their sup­port.
