Bob collects monthly medal
Finley The J & M Doyle monthly medal was played on Sunday.
Bob Ross carded 67 nett to claim A grade along with the medal and Cock of the Walk title, while Bob Makkinga carded 69 nett to win B grade.
New arrival in Finley, Ian Armer, with a fine 74 off the stick took out the scratch medal.
Helen Wastle had 68 nett to claim the ladies’ trophy and club brooch, as well as putting competition with 22 putts.
The NTP on the 18th was Paul Pinnuck and balls went to Ray Healey (70), Mark O’Brien (71), Paul Pinnuck (71), Joanne Dean (71), Rick Harris (73), Grant Shaw (73), Ian Armer (73), Julie O’Brien (75) and Linda Rendell (75).
In the men’s competition on Wednesday, Matt Daniel blitzed the field with 41 stableford points to claim the voucher.
Grant Shaw was NTP on the 18th and balls went to Rodger Sutton (39) and Grant Shaw (35).
Barry Fahey carded 33.5 nett to win the Thursday afternoon nine-hole comp with balls going to Andrew Higgins (35), Martin Cruickshank (35.5) and Geoff Boscombe (35.5).
Finley recently hosted the first round of the Finley Newsagency Wilson Cup, an annual mixed fourball best ball event played between the Finley, Berrigan and Jerilderie clubs.
At the end of the day’s play Finley was five points in front of Berrigan with Jerilderie one point further back in third place.
The next round of the Wilson Cup will be played at Berrigan on Saturday, July 18.
The Jerilderie pairing of Kath and Bill Williams with 45 stableford points won the Daily Trophy with Joanne and Eric Dean (43) the runners-up.
The NTP on the 13th was Enid Bain and the 18th was Chick Braybon. Balls went to couples who had 38 points or better.
The men’s Wednesday competition tees off at noon today, while ninehole comp continues tomorrow.

The stableford event, sponsored by Walsh Plumbing, was won by 17-handicapper Enid Bain with 37 points.

Tocumwal On Tuesday there was 26 teams of ladies playing foursomes stableford on the Captain’s Course with the winning team being Mary McMahon and Shirley Desailly with 36 points. The men’s competition on Wednesday was stableford on the President’s Course.
Colin McNamara won A grade with a great score of 42 and runnerup was Rob Arbon with 37.
B grade was won by Joshua Paul with 38 and runner-up was Ian Taylor with 37.

Saturday saw 35 ladies and 42 men playing stableford on the President’s Course with A grade for the ladies going to Lindy Cooper on 38.
Jill Loversidge took out B grade with 31. NTP: Frances Williams 2nd.
Men’s A grade went to Ed Scharkow with 36, followed by Brian Wilson on 35.
B grade was won by Pat Boake with 37 on countback from Warren Constable. NTP: Chris Tomlinson 15th.
Sunday had 62 men playing par on the Captain’s Course with Abraham Nimb from Kooringal winning A grade with +3.
Jerilderie’s Darren Mitchell was runner up with +1.
B grade went to Finley’s Stephen Conrick on countback from Richie Kliska, while C grade was won by Neville Finn on countback from Graeme Sharp. NTP: Derek McMahon 17th.
