A grade: 48. The Demons led all game but were never totally in control of the match when taking the points over Yarroweyah. Close defensive pressure across the court by the Demons caused plenty of opportunities for Kirstin Kocks and Oliva Hanlon to intercept passes, much to the crowd’s delight. Shooter Tanya Rorato was on song with 35 goals for the day with the win keeping the team in the top five. Awards: Wunnamurra BOC - Paige Nash; Congram Transport - Zoe Stephens; IGA - Kristin Kocks. B grade: Jerilderie 45 def. Yarroweyah 26. The B-graders also hold onto fifth spot with another solid win. Isabelle Westwood started strongly with 12 goals in the opening quarter, giving the girls an 11-goal lead at the first change. Strong defence was the key to the game with Crystal Sanderson and Brooke Mitchell controlling the defensive transverse line. Apart from a third quarter fade the team passed and moved the ball up and down the court well. Awards: SRLP - Crystal Sanderson; IGA - Brooke Mitchell. C-Res: Yarroweyah 29 def. Jerilderie 24. U/17s: Jerilderie 52 def. Yarroweyah 18. With a few player away on holidays it gave the opportunity for Grace Leeds, Olivia Mauger and Annalise Barlow to step up from under-15s and have a crack with the older girls. A low intensity game saw the Demons take away a relatively convincing win. Millie Stonnill shot tremendously with the help of Annalise Barlow. Although defenders didn’t have a tough day at the office, when needed Alysha Knight and Phoebe Watson showed what one-on-one defensive pressure can do to the opposition. Awards: North Deni Steel BOC - Millie Stonnill; JNC - Olivia Mauger. U/15s: Jerilderie 53 def. Yarroweyah 10. Awards: Magic scissors BOC - Annalise Barlow; JNC - Jessie Read. U/13s: Jerilderie 28 def. Yarroweyah 4. Once again the Dees relied on the under11s team to fill the ranks with several players stepping up and playing excellent netball to win the match and take fifth place on the ladder. The team welcomed Georgia Sieben to the club and hopes she enjoys her time with the Demons. Elouise Barlow and Mardie Hamilton both shot well with Hannah Aughtie in the last line of defence at GK also rebounding and intercepting strongly. Awards: Barlow Ag - Georgia Sieben; JNC Bakery - Brigit Hamilton. U/11s: The girls used this game to practice their skills before the under-13s match. All parents should be proud of these girls who have improved so much under expert coaching. Each week their skills and netball knowledge increases and they are a pleasure to watch. Awards: Makatak - Brigit Hamilton.
