Shire hosts holiday arts, play time

Southern Riverina news - - NEWS -

School holidays can be a busy time for parents, but with the help of free events in the shire the ‘I’m bored’ card could not be played.

Last Wednesday, Tocumwal’s little creatures were kept entertained with a free school holiday activity fun day held at the Memorial Hall in Deniliquin St.

Hosted by Intereach Family Links worker Sharon Soule, an array of wildly fun hands on arts and play programs and inspiring activities put the smile on the dials of 10 youngsters.

‘‘We had everything from painting, mak- ing pet rocks, tee-pee, giant connect four, it was just great,’’ she said.

‘‘It was supposed to be ‘Art in the Park’, then it turned to ‘Art in the Pond’; hence why we moved indoors.

‘‘Thanks goes to the Memorial Hall committee in Tocumwal for providing the space free of charge.’’

Another free holiday program will be held this week — at Finley today and Berrigan and Tocumwal tomorrow.

Come create, decorate and make wooden mobiles to hang from 10.30am.
