Father John’s big anniversary
A wonderful celebration was held last Sunday for Fr John McGrath’s 40th anniversary of Ordination to the Priesthood.
Father John’s nine siblings and their families attended the occasion.
Family travelled from Darwin, Robe, Leeton, Albury, Canberra, Numurkah and Finley.
It was a great gathering of the local community and beyond with people travelling from Melbourne, Corowa, Wagga, Lockhart, Yarrawonga, Jerilderie, Finley, Oaklands and Barooga.
A lunch was enjoyed by all at the Memorial Hall and Father McGrath had a wonderful day catching up with family and friends.
The highly anticipated performance of the play Carpe Diem will be held in Berrigan tonight.
Starring popular Australian television actor John Woods, best known for his role in Blue Heelers, is is being hosted by the Berrigan Amateur Dramatic Society and Berrigan Shire Council.
Set in a rural town, Carpe Diem is a contemporary portrayal of everyday Australian males dealing with issues of health, grief, loss and depression.
It is an entertaining look at how friendship and proper care give a man the strength to cope.

The Berrigan Caravan Park will be having a Berrigan Cup Recovery Breakfast on Sunday, October 30 from 8am.
Egg and bacon rolls, tea and coffee will be on the menu and all money raised will be donated to the Berrigan Swimming Pool.
The opening of the Berrigan Swimming Pool will be Friday, November 18.
It will be open that day from 3pm until late.
Entry is free and a sausage sizzle will be available.
The annual RSL Remembrance Family Day will be held on Sunday, November 6 at the RSL starting at 11am.
There will be lunch served, entertainment will be provided by Ray Macartney and Damien Taylor and a spinning wheel with lots of prizes up for grabs.
This Sunday, the Berrigan Cricket Club will hold a Calcutta at the Royal Hotel starting at 2pm. Tickets are $2 each or $50 per book.
