Member for Albury Greg Aplin has called on local communities to nominate female councillors and council staff for the 2017 Ministers Awards for Women in Local Government.
“Across this electorate there are many talented and inspiring women who every day make a genuine difference to our local communities,” Mr Aplin said.
“I would encourage people to nominate a female councillor or council staff member who has made an outstanding contribution and deserves to be recognised for their commitment to the communities in which we live.”
Awards are given in four cetegories — Elected Representative, Senior Staff Member, Non-Senior Staff Member, and Women in Non-Traditional Roles.
Nominations close on Wednesday, December 21. Go to www.olg.nsw.gov.au.
The awards will be presented at a function to celebrate International Women’s Day at NSW Parliament House on March 7.
