McNamara’s medal ton
Finley On Saturday the Trent Wood Monthly Medal was played with Colin McNamara carding 74-6-68 to claim the daily A Grade trophy along with both the scratch and net medals.
McNamara also took out the Cock of the Walk title, which gave him, as predicted, his 100th (and 101st) medal before Christmas.
Jenni Corcoran with 91-20-71 in the ladies event claimed the daily trophy and both the scratch and net medals.
Bob Makkinga took the B Grade men’s trophy after a countback on 70 net.
The putting competition went to Tracy Jones with 30 putts.
Balls went to Tony Ryan (70), Locky Caldwell (71), Terry Emerson (71) and Beth White (76).
NTP on the 18th went to Terry Emerson and both ladies and men’s Heritage NAGA trophies jackpotted.
Junior golfer Locky Caldwell collected the Hawova Holsteins Trophy for the 18 hole Comp with 46 Stableford points leaving the field way back on Wednesday.
Balls went to Barry Fahey (36) and Locky’s grandfather Leo McNamara (36).
Rand Wilson claimed both NTPs on the 18th and the Matt Daniel NAGA trophy.
The Thursday 9 Hole Comp saw Bob Makkinga come out on top in a round of stableford with 27 points after a countback to claim the voucher.
Balls went to Bill Judd (27), Locky Caldwell (25), Barry Fahey (25), Tony Ryan (24) and Geoff Boscombe (24).
It was a ‘‘full-on’’ three weeks of catch-up golf, together with the celebrations of 2016 Presentation Night coupled with the team taking part in the Summer Pennant at Yarrawonga.
At the weekend Stableford Medley is programmed on both days with the rescheduled final round of the Wilson Cup to be played at Berrigan on Saturday.
Finley ladies As this was the last of Wednesday competition for the year the ladies played 9 holes and then had a Presentation Luncheon.
Wednesday golf will resume early March 2017.
Golf can still be played throughout the summer and also on weekends.

Division Two was won by Adorree Bailey with 5 up followed by Rhonda Lewis with 3 up.
Nola Whiteford was the Division Three winner with 4 up with Margaret Anderson 3-up the runner-up.
NTP went to Bev Richard (2nd) and Helen Bowman (17th).
Wednesday saw 123 men playing stableford on the President’s Course with Division One going to Stephen Deppeler with 38 pts on c/back from Paul Olsen.
Lou Richard was the Division Two winner with 41 pts followed by Fred Rossborough 38, and Division Three went to Kevin Morey with 38 pts on c/back from Alan Good.
Barry Massingham was the Division Four winner with 43 pts followed by Ronald Eaton on 42.
NTP went to Michael Keen (2nd) and Philip Nunn (14th).
On Saturday there were 51 ladies and 53 men playing stableford on the President’s course with Pamela Richard- son (Ladies president) taking out the ladies Division One with 36 pts followed by Kathleen Garnaut 35 (Huntingdale GC).
Division Two was won by Kathleen Williams with 42 pts, r/up Noelene Duncomb 39 and Jan Campbell was the Division Three winner with 45 pts followed by Dianne Kemp 41.
NTP went to Eileen McGinn (2nd) and Bev Richard (18th).
In the Men’s Division One, Malcolm Hart with 39 pts was the winner with Jason Buchanen taking r/up.
Division Two went to Garry Foster (Hawksnest GC) with 43 pts followed by Kevin Waller 41.
Denis Garner took out Division Three with a great score of 44 pts with r/up going to John Simm 41.
NTP went to Kevin Waller (2nd) and Dennis Frost (18th).
Sunday was a stroke event. There were seven ladies and 57 men.
Ladies winner was Kathleen Garnaut ( Huntingdale GC) with 69 net. Garnaut also won NTP on the 2nd.
Men’s Division One scratch winner was Michael Cooper with 72 and the net winner was Terry Olsen with 71 net on c/back from Michael Cooper.
Hugo Jankov claimed the Division Two scratch with 78 and was also the net winner with 64 to take out the Monthly Medal.
Fred Rossborough was runner-up with 76 net while Terry McMahon was the Division Three scratch winner with 86 as well as the net winner with 67.
James Wilson followed with 70 net.
NTP went to Terry McMahon (2nd) and Paul Olsen (17th).
