Club’s Christ­mas cel­e­bra­tion a hit

Fin­ley Mem­bers en­joyed the Christ­mas cel­e­bra­tions and the con­ces­sions granted for the oc­ca­sion last Fri­day evening.

The ham­per was well sup­ported and first prize was won by Lyn Donkin, sec­ond Nola Wood with third be­ing Jim Gastin.

Co-or­di­na­tor Nan was pleased with the sup­port given.

Ar­range­ments are also be­ing made for Ro­tary bowls day, on Fe­bru­ary 22.

This day is a me­mo­rial day for El­lis Thornton, who played a ma­jor role in Ro­tary as well as be­ing a lead­ing player and for­mer ex­ec­u­tive of the Fin­ley Bowl­ing Club.

Ro­tary will use all funds raised on its projects within the town.

A list for teams is dis­played on the no­tice board and player sup­port is re­quested for this open Triples, any com­bi­na­tion, con­test.

The Quadri­par­tite, spon- sored by Hutcheon and Pearce, will be played on Thurs­day, Jan­uary 12 at both bowls clubs dur­ing the day.

A max­i­mum en­try has been re­ceived with 28 teams of four men.

Mark­ers for the sin­gles con­test are re­quired so if any player is able to help please con­tact Heather.

Player hand­i­caps have been re­leased with plans be­ing made to play the B grade cham­pi­onship on Jan­uary 15.

All el­i­gi­ble play­ers have been in­cluded in the draw.

The 55 and over com­pe­ti­tion re­sumes on Tues­day, Jan­uary 10 at Fin­ley.

Team en­tries are now be­ing re­ceived.

An in­vi­ta­tion has been re­ceived to play in the Noble Park tour­na­ment.

This presents a great op­por­tu­nity to re-kin­dle in­ter­club in­ter­est.

We all re­call the great sup­port Noble Park has been to the club in the past at the Easter tour­na­ment.
