Ber­ri­gan back in fi­nals race

Ber­ri­gan’s thirds had a big win over Blighty on Satur­day to put the Saints back in the fi­nals race in the Picola Foot­ball League.

All the Saints played ex­tremely well to­gether in the wet con­di­tions at their home ground.

Colby Hel­lyer-Maud kicked 10 goals for Ber­ri­gan, while Ben Fox slot­ted seven ma­jors and Brad Loats five.

Scores, Ber­ri­gan 25.7 to Blighty three be­hinds.

Mid­field­ers Fraser Haintz and Tom Whelan along with back­men Ma­son Peters and Ri­ley Nolen played their usual im­pres­sive game for the home side.

The win saw the Saints claim fifth spot by per­cent­age.

Blake Charl­ton was the Redeyes’ best, sup­ported by Darcy Webb, Ro­nan Waters, Billy Michael and Tom Cochrane.

Ber­ri­gan’s fourths went down by six goals to Blighty.

Bet­ter play­ers for Ber­ri­gan were John O’Neill, Ai­den Fen­nell, James Curtin, Max Cameron, Caleb Thorn­ton and Tyson SharpShor­ney.

Kane Mor­ris was Blighty’s best, kick­ing two goals, while Con­nor Ja­cob­sen (two goals), Tom Cochrane (one), Will Bull, Jack Gavel and Tay­lon Card­well all played well.
