Goods and ser­vices up for auc­tion at Cats’ fundraiser

Sport­ing mer­chan­dise, agri­cul­tural ser­vices and goods from lo­cal busi­nesses are all up for grabs at the Fin­ley Foot­ball and Net­ball Club’s an­nual fundraiser this Satur­day night.

Club com­mit­tee mem­ber Barry Dawe said the goods and ser­vices auc­tion is one of the club’s big­gest fundraiser of the year.

He said there’s a host of items up for grabs, with some­thing to suit ev­ery­one.

‘‘Some of the big ticket items in­clude a cor­po­rate box seat to a Fin­ley Foot­ball Net­ball Club game of their choice, and a cor­po­rate box seat at the MCG based on avail­abil­ity,’’ Mr Dawe said.

‘‘There’s also vouch­ers for hay con­tract­ing, tyres, fer­tilis­ers, agri­cul­tural re­pairs and weld­ing, as well as cartage of ei­ther grain or live­stock.

‘‘We also have a num­ber of meal vouch­ers, and there’s a din­ner party for eight up for grabs val­ued at about $800.

‘‘There are also some foot­ballers who have of­fered up six hours of labour, as well as a load of fire­wood and Rene­gade Cricket Club mer­chan­dise.

‘‘There’s even a week’s stay at a hol­i­day house on the coast up for grabs.’’

The event will held at the Fin­ley Apex Sports and Com­mu­nity Cen­tre af­ter Satur­day’s match with Ba­rooga.

It’s free to at­tend the auc­tion, which is ex­pected to get un­der­way from about 7pm. Meals and drinks will be at your own cost.
