Trans­port Wall of Fame nom­i­na­tions re­ceived

Eleven nom­i­na­tions have been re­ceived for the sec­ond an­nual De­niliquin & District Trans­port In­dus­try Wall of Fame.

Nom­i­na­tions have closed and the re­cip­i­ents will be an­nounced at a gala din­ner in Septem­ber, as part of the De­niliquin Truck Show & In­dus­try Expo week­end.

The Wall of Fame is an ini­tia­tive of the expo com­mit­tee, and nom­i­nees can be from De­niliquin, Fin­ley, Ber­ri­gan, Ba­rooga, Barham, Tocumwal, Hay, Mathoura, Moama, Moulamein, Barham, Conargo, Jer­ilderie and all ar­eas in be­tween.

The Wall of Fame will recog­nise any­one who has made a dif­fer­ence, con­tri­bu­tion or had an im­pact on the lo­cal truck­ing in­dus­try, and post­hu­mous nom­i­na­tions are wel­come.

All nom­i­na­tions that meet the cri­te­ria will be de­ter­mined by an in­de­pen­dent judg­ing panel.

The gala din­ner will be held at the De­niliquin RSL Club on Fri­day, Septem­ber 8. The guest speaker is Ox­ford Cold Stor­age trans­port man­ager Jac­qe­lene Brother­ton.

Ms Brother­ton is a mem­ber of 14 dif­fer­ent com­mit­tees and as­so­ci­a­tions, most re­lat­ing to the trans­port in­dus­try, and is a life mem­ber of the Live­stock and Bulk Car­ri­ers As­so­ci­a­tion of NSW, chair of the Re­frig­er­ated Ware­house and Trans­port As­so­ci­a­tion’s trans­port sub-com­mit­tee and was on the board of Trans­port Women Aus­tralia Ltd from 2008 to 2012, in­clud­ing be­ing chair from 2009 to 2011.

The sec­ond speaker will be De­niliquin Po­lice High­way Pa­trol Sergeant Steven Bloom­field. He will be in­vited to speak on po­lice mat­ters, as well as his back­ground as a car­toon­ist for Truck­ing Life mag­a­zine.
