Redeyes beat Dees to book fi­nals spot

Blighty’s A grade made it six wins in a row, de­feat­ing Jer­ilderie 69 to 34 at Blighty Recre­ation Re­serve on Satur­day.

The win se­cured a Pi­cola League fi­nals ap­pear­ance for the Redeyes, who are third on the lad­der.

Awards went to shooter Emily White, de­fender Nat Trem­ble and mid­courter So­phie Lostroh.

Blighty had more suc­cess in B grade, with a 43 to 38 win over the Demons.

The win saw the fourth placed Redeyes bridge a one game gap be­tween them and fifth placed Strath­mer­ton.

Awards went to shoot­ers Karla Strong­man and Sha­nia Bent­ley.

In C grade it was Jer­ilderie who stood tall, the Redeyes go­ing down 49 to 34.

The Redeyes couldn’t re­peat their round five ef­fort, with the Demons re­vers­ing their for­tunes in dom­i­nant fash­ion.

Awards went to de­fender Kris­teen Cul­ton, mid­courter Caitlin Sal­ter and all-rounder Emma Barker.

Blighty had no an­swer for an un­de­feated Jer­ilderie side in the Un­der 17s, go­ing down 74 to 13.

The loss means that all hopes for a late charge at fi­nals is lost with the Redeyes sit­ting in eighth spot on the lad­der.

In the U-13s, Blighty bounced back from a shock loss to record a 22-8 win over Jer­ilderie.

The slip-up against Ber­ri­gan last week was Blighty’s only loss for the sea­son, with the Redeyes one win clear on top of the lad­der.
