Two local students have won a trip to the 2018 Victorian PGA Championship in Melbourne next year.

Jai Nolan from Barooga Primary School and Annie McLeod from Sacred Heart Primary School in Tocumwal were each judged as a prize winner for submitting a project on their favourite Australian golfer.

They were each presented with winning certificates from PGA Australia’s Nick Dasety last week.

Annie’s project involved a slideshow on Karrie Webb.

‘‘I asked Karrie some questions and she personally responded, which was great.’’

Annie said she chose Webb because she is one of Australia’s best female golfers.

Jai decided to be a bit artistic with his project and lined up facts about Jason Day on a set of golf clubs. He said he chose Day ‘‘because he’s cool and I like him.’’

Berrigan Shire councillor Denis Glanville, Tocumwal Golf & Bowls Club director of golf Rodney Booth and Sacred Heart Primary School principal Pat Boake also attended the presentation.
