Stu­dents en­ter­ing an agri­cul­ture-re­lated course in 2018 are be­ing of­fered the op­por­tu­nity to ap­ply for an AgriFu­tures Hori­zon Schol­ar­ship to sup­port them through their stud­ies.

The pro­gram is man­aged by AgriFu­tures Aus­tralia (for­merly the Ru­ral In­dus­tries Re­search and De­vel­op­ment Cor­po­ra­tion) and is sup­ported by in­dus­try part­ners in­clud­ing the Grains Re­search and De­vel­op­ment Cor­po­ra­tion (GRDC).

The AgriFu­tures Hori­zon Schol­ar­ship ini­tia­tive sup­ports stu­dents en­rolled in full time study at an Aus­tralian uni­ver­sity by pro­vid­ing:

a bur­sary of $5000 per year for the first two years of a de­gree; pro­fes­sional de­vel­op­ment work­shops; an­nual in­dus­try work place­ments aligned with the scholar’s ar­eas of in­ter­est and their spon­sor’s in­dus­try;

op­por­tu­ni­ties to net­work and gain knowl­edge at a range of in­dus­try events.

To be el­i­gi­ble for an AgriFu­tures Hori­zon Schol­ar­ship, stu­dents must be an Aus­tralian ci­ti­zen or per­ma­nent res­i­dent en­rolled full­time in their first year of an agri­cul­tur­ere­lated de­gree at an Aus­tralian uni­ver­sity with a max­i­mum two-year gap be­tween high school and ter­tiary study.

Three ad­di­tional and unique schol­ar­ships are on of­fer this year, tar­get­ing stu­dents in their fi­nal two years of study.
