Rotary Bowls Day on today
Finley Rotary Club’s biggest annual fundraiser will take place today at the Finley Bowling Club.
Today will mark the 30th anniversary of the Ellis Thornton Memorial Rotary Bowls Day, and will see more than 24 teams of four players from across the Southern Riverina take part on the local greens.
Finley Rotary president Bert Wulz is encouraging people to get along and support the day so it can continue to support other local community groups.
‘‘We’ve made major contributions to the schools and bought medical supplies for the Finley High School Timor Leste Immersion Program students for them to donate when they travel there in April,’’ Mr Wulz said.
‘‘We’re looking at ways to donate to the Finley Community Gym, mental health groups, Finley Cancer Support Group, the Scouts and Finley Showground Committee.
‘‘We have many upcoming projects including a government grant for new outdoor equipment to be installed at Finley Lake.’’
Play will start today from 9am at the Bowling Club in Tuppal St, Finley. Call the club on 5883 1324 for more information. 16 Deniliquin Street Tocumwal NSW 2714. PO Box 138 Tocumwal NSW 2714 Phone: 0358 742 732 Fax: 0358 742 742 Email: [email protected]
