Finley hold fourth
Finley BC In the final round of midweek pennant Finley went down to Tocumwal 64-59 in a tight battle, despite winning two out of the three rinks.
The two rink wins were enough to see Finley hold on to fourth place on the ladder however.
Finley will compete in the elimination final against Numurkah Golf at Finley RS club on Friday.
Selected teams for clash are as follows: L Bergmans (s), H Tabe, S Walsh, M Koschel; N Smith (s), A Haines, S Montgomery, B Boyd; T Miles (s), D McKellar, N Wood, B Robinson. Good luck to the team.
On Saturday, Finley’s ladder leading Division Three side was defeated by Tocumwal by nine shots, 68/77.
Finley had just one winning team, with Ashleigh Haines winning 30-20.
With a healthy lead on the ladder, the side still finished the season as minor premiers and will enter finals with a double chance.
Division Four team three had a three shot victory over Numurkah, 44-41 with both teams winning narrowly.
Team three finished in fourth spot on the ladder and will play in an elimination final this weekend.
The teams for the first final are not available, as yet.

Last Wednesday the Finley Bowling Club hosted the 30th annual Ellis Thornton Memorial Rotary Bowls event.
Winners from the day was the team of Tocumwal bowlers Cheryl Townsing, Effie Eaton and and Mike Henshaw and Finley RS bowler Jim Townsing.
The C grade final has been won by Lawrie Walsh when he defeated Alan Cowan, 25-20, in a good game of draw bowling.
There will be an opportunity for all players to practice on Thursday, dfp, starting at 1.30pm.
Players are advised to ensure their bowls stickers are unbroken, clear and legible or else replace them.
Sunday morning bowls winners were Geoff Trevorrow and Marie Koschel.
Previous winners were Billy Smith Pentland.
Heather has now completed her umpire reaccreditation examination successfully. She is busy obtaining entries for the Veteran Singles, Men's 100 up Pairs, dfp, and the Mixed Pairs championships. Lists are on display, please enter now.
A new caterer has been appointed for the club. Catering is for lunch and dinner on most days as well as a seniors lunch deal on a Tuesday. Bookings for any meals can be made direct to the club, 5883 1324.

Berrigan Berrigan’s Division Two side had a nail biting finish, getting up on the last end to win 90-89 over Numurkah to book their spot in finals on Saturday.
The two sides shared two rink wins each with Mark Rooney (21-14) and Rick Bradbury (27-17) victorious, while Mick Bush (19-25) and Graeme Clement (23-33) were defeated.
Berrigan will face Cobram at Numurkah Golf in an elimination final this Saturday.
Division Four had Les Dart’s rink win 20-12 but with Bill Daly’s rink going down 9-27, it was a visiting Barooga side victorious 39-29 overall.
In ladies midweek pennant, Berrigan were defeated by Finley RS by 38 shots, bringing their season to an end.
Glenys McKay travelled to Shepparton Park to play in the final of the region Champion of Champions and played Goulburn Valley Bowls Division champion Josie Michielin, who defeated Sharon Hall in the semi final. and Ron
Josie proved to be the better bowler on the day to defeat Glenys but the Berrigan Club were very proud of her efforts representing the MBD and our club.

Tocumwal This week saw the final of the Men’s 21 with Chris Philpot prevailing against Col Farrer.
Philpot also travelled to Shepparton on Sunday to play in the group final of the State Men’s Singles.
Unfortunately he lost his morning match and the chance to play in the finals in Bendigo next month. He’ll be disappointed but what a great season he has had.
Ladies 21-up continues, to be followed by the Ladies B grade championship.
Ladies make sure you get your names down for the final championship event for the season.
The pennant home and away season is now completed with Tocumwal to be represented by a number of teams in the finals.
The Friday pennant semi finals will be played at Finley RS on Friday.
Division One will see Tocumwal Golf face Cobram; and Numurkah Golf face Finley.
Division Two features Picola vs Tocumwal Golf Two and Nathalia v Tocumwal Golf Three.
In the Saturday pennant Tocumwal’s Division Three will face Finley One at Numurkah Golf.

Finley RS Saturday Division One has held on to a finals spot despite going down to Wunghnu 82-90.
Division Three went down to Tocumwal 66-83, but also finished in the top four.
In the elimination games this Saturday, Division One will play at Wunghnu. Selected teams are: I Smethurst (s), R Brown, M Maraldo, M Smethurst; J Townsing (s), M Lewis, Kieran Beare, R Ameer; S Lunn (s), W Blanch, T Turner, P Wilson; A West (s), P Ellul, J Peacock, K Johnson.

Cars leave at 11.30 am for both teams.
Friday pennant finished their season on a high, defeating Berrigan 76-50 with two rink wins, finishing the season in fifth place.
With great greens and a great day and 28 teams competing Trade Day at the RSC on Thursday was enjoyed by all. Winners were A West, J Peacock and M Krug.
