Festival concern

Southern Riverina news - - NEWS -

Dear Editor, It appears Strawberry Fields are planning another festival in the shire this year.

I do not think it is a good idea mainly because it has been shown these festivals bring more drugs into our community.

In my view it is also true that some festival goers do not obey basic road rules such as giving way at a give way sign and stopping at a stop sign, which is extremely dangerous because of harvest traffic every November in our area. Noise is excessive and continuous. The risk of fire is increased and evacuation would be chaotic and life threatening.

It has been said these events publicise our area; let us ensure this publicity is always positive.

Families are our future so let us be known as a family friendly community.

By all means try to educate the next generation by making a small sacrifice to show them we regard experimenting with drugs is too great a risk.

Yours etc. John Groutsch
