With a lifetime of providing nursing care, management experience in rural hospitals and living in regional communities I believe I’m perfect to stand for election to the Berrigan Shire Council.
Growing up in the area and living in Tocumwal, I’m keen to offer my experience, energy and time to help the council deliver for the community.
Running as an Independent candidate, I’m committed to representing all members of the community.
My vision for the Berrigan Shire Council is to have thriving communities built around a solid economic base that readily attracts investment, people, skills and innovation.
I want to ensure that council collaborates with other organisations and levels of government to attract resources, funding and services to our area.
I believe that good governance, teamwork and respect for the community are essential to a strong local council.
Advocating for people with a wide range of needs and involvement in a number of local community groups has given me an excellent understanding of the various needs of any community, especially in rural areas.
I will take particular focus on:
Retention of health care services including medical, allied health and mental health services;
Enhancing tourism services and opportunities across the whole region;
Maintenance of history and heritage;
Increased sporting and recreational opportunities;
Opportunities for all in the community to thrive.
I am passionate about ensuring that we have access to all the services, investment and opportunities that we need to function as a healthy community. local
