Bloods too strong for Saints

Tocumwal were too strong for Ber­ri­gan in the thirds, run­ning away by 65 points in round 14 of the Pi­cola & District League on Satur­day.

For the Bloods, Oliver Smith showed great run out of de­fence and Will John­son also had a great game. Oth­ers to play well were Mitch Reilly, Tom Barker, Zan­der Grif­fin and Har­vey White.

It was the usual sus­pects who worked hard for Ber­ri­gan with Fraser Haintz play­ing a ‘Judd-like’ game through the mid­field and the tough Riley Demp­ster get­ting plenty of the ball. Ma­son Peters (one goal) and Rory Thorn­ton also im­pressed.

Fi­nal score, Tocumwal 10.11 (71) to Ber­ri­gan 1.0 (6).

Tocumwal had a 97 point win in the fourths.

Best play­ers for the Bloods were Chase Hard­widge, Ray­mond Sut­ton, Blair Eddy, Ethan Jef­fress, Nick Noo­nan and Hamish Smithers.

Ber­ri­gan’s bet­ter play­ers were Darcy Pyle, Matt Whe­lan, Ben Ack­erly, Hamish Cameron, Xavier Fox and Caleb Thorn­ton.
