Bloods too strong for Saints
Tocumwal were too strong for Berrigan in the thirds, running away by 65 points in round 14 of the Picola & District League on Saturday.
For the Bloods, Oliver Smith showed great run out of defence and Will Johnson also had a great game. Others to play well were Mitch Reilly, Tom Barker, Zander Griffin and Harvey White.
It was the usual suspects who worked hard for Berrigan with Fraser Haintz playing a ‘Judd-like’ game through the midfield and the tough Riley Dempster getting plenty of the ball. Mason Peters (one goal) and Rory Thornton also impressed.
Final score, Tocumwal 10.11 (71) to Berrigan 1.0 (6).
Tocumwal had a 97 point win in the fourths.
Best players for the Bloods were Chase Hardwidge, Raymond Sutton, Blair Eddy, Ethan Jeffress, Nick Noonan and Hamish Smithers.
Berrigan’s better players were Darcy Pyle, Matt Whelan, Ben Ackerly, Hamish Cameron, Xavier Fox and Caleb Thornton.
