Three Wangaratta men have been charged with various drug offences after a routine traffic stop in Berrigan on Saturday night.

Police stopped a car driving in Jerilderie St about 9.45pm for a random breath test but said a strong smell when speaking to the driver led to a search of the car and its occupants.

Subsequently, police charged a 19 yearold man with alleged possession of cannabis and utensils to administrator drugs.

An 18 year-old man was allegedly found in possession of ketamine and MDMA, and police also allege he was carrying a pocket knife.

A second 19 year-old man was allegedly also found with ketamine, MDMA and cannabis.

Police said they also found a ‘bong’ and other cannabis preparation materials in the back of the car.

All three were charged pending a court appearance.

Two men were charged for alleged cannabis possession in two separate incidents in Barooga on Friday.

A 49 year-old Wagga man was charged about 3.30pm when police allegedly saw cannabis on the dashboard of his car.

Police report to have seen the drug when approaching the car, which was parked on the side of the Murray Valley Highway.

As they got closer, police said they also saw some of the drug on the passenger seat.

About 20 minutes later, police allege to have found a small bag of cannabis when searching a 40 year-old Victorian man.

Both men have been ordered to appear in court on the separate charges.

Police are investigating a break and enter at the Berrigan Scout Hall.

Between 10pm on Friday and 10am Saturday the front entrance door has been forced open.

Police say nothing of value is believed to have been taken from the hall.
