Top quality equestrian club

-

The Cobram Barooga Equestrian Club is one of the Murray River and Southern Riverina’s top riding clubs.

It is an accredited Horse Riding Clubs Association of Victoria (HRCAV) member, was established more than 25 years ago and has had many riders go onto compete at state and national levels.

The CBEC competes in showjumping and dressage at HRCAV events, however prides itself on being a social club.

Secretary Emily Hehir said the club trains once a month and can cater for all ages.

‘‘We have regular training days, usually on the last weekend of the month at the Barooga Recreation Reserve, but the days can change.

‘‘What is great about our club is we support each other. On many occasions someone might not be riding, however they’ll still travel across Victoria and southern NSW to cheer on their teammates.

‘‘Our club does compete but if people want to just ride and support the club they’re welcome to join.

‘‘The club is great for people who just love riding.

‘‘We’re open to everyone, all ages and independent riders,’’ Ms Hehir said.

The club holds five official competitions per year, the first four held over two days - usually the first or second weekend in April and the other event held in October at the Cobram Show.

The CBEC facility includes a full size sand arena, 20m fully enclosed round yard, jumps, equipment shed and clubrooms with fully equipped kitchen, change rooms, showers and toilets.
