Stu­dents learn skills at Abo­rig­i­nal art work­shop

On Tues­day the stu­dents at St. Columba's had a visit from David Dunn, an Abo­rig­i­nal Artist who held a paint­ing work­shop.

Or­gan­ised by Pe­tau­rus Ed­u­ca­tion Group, the stu­dents learnt some new paint­ing skills from David and com­pleted some re­ally won­der­ful art pieces.

The Ber­ri­gan RSL Sub Branch will be hold­ing a flag rais­ing cer­e­mony at the RSL build­ing at 11am this Sun­day to com­mem­o­rate Re­mem­brance Day.

All are wel­come and en­cour­aged to come along.

This Sun­day Lau­rie Thomp­son is open­ing his gar­den to the pub­lic from 10.30am to 2pm at 29 Cor­co­ran Street.

Cost is $5 with the money raised go­ing to the Com­mu­nity Gar­den.

Please no pets or small chil­dren due to del­i­cate na­ture of the gar­den. Morn­ing tea will be avail­able.

Please save the date for the Christ­mas Mar­ket Night/Car­ols on Fri­day De­cem­ber 7.

This year the car­ols will also be held on the same night as the mar­ket night.

There will be stalls, the Red Cross Ex­trav­a­ganza and plenty of en­ter­tain­ment for the chil­dren.

Re­cently Daw­mac held a bar­be­cue to raise funds for the McGrath Foun­da­tion.

Daw­mac were hop­ing to raise $500, but with the sup­port from the com­mu­nity, raised $600.

The Daw­mac team wish to thank the com­mu­nity for their sup­port on a spe­cial fundraiser.

The film ‘‘A Month of Sun­days’’ will be filmed next Tues­day at 1.30pm.

The film is about a real es­tate agent, Frank, whose busi­ness is fail­ing and his re­la­tion­ship with his fam­ily is at an all-time low.

By chance, Frank meets Sarah, a nice woman who re­minds him of his mother. Their friend­ship starts heal­ing him emo­tion­ally.

Free gen­tle ex­er­cises are held ev­ery Mon­day and Wed­nes­day from 10.15am to 11am at the Madill Cen­tre.

To­mor­row night the grand fi­nal of the Bernard Curtin B grade tro­phy will be played be­tween Mary Curtin and Gary Seamer.

Both play­ers have been play­ing ex­cep­tion­ally and a great game will be wit­nessed. All wel­come to come along.

Con­grat­u­la­tions to the Ber­ri­gan Race Club com­mit­tee on a very suc­cess­ful race meet­ing.

The weather was kind and the crowd came from wide and far.

The grounds are a credit to the com­mit­tee and we all look for­ward to the next meet­ing in March.

Con­grat­u­la­tions Les­ley Fankhauser, the win­ner of the Quilted Christ­mas Wall Hang­ing.

The com­mu­nity again gave us great sup­port for our street stall.

IGA have put up a blind to pro­tect the stall hold­ers from the weather. A big thank you goes to Joe and Judy.
