Com­bined mar­ket, carols cel­e­bra­tion

Please save the date for the Christ­mas Mar­ket Night/Carols on Fri­day, De­cem­ber 7.

This year the Carols will also be held on the same night as the mar­ket night.

There will be stalls, the Red Cross Ex­trav­a­ganza and plenty of en­ter­tain­ment for the chil­dren.

As al­ways the main street will be closed and there will be plenty of ta­bles and chairs for the pub­lic to en­joy a meal, drink and en­ter­tain­ment.

Of course Santa will be mak­ing an ap­pear­ance and looks for­ward to see­ing ev­ery­one there.

This year at the Mar­ket Night a new com­pe­ti­tion called ‘The Voice’ will take place be­tween 6pm and 7pm.

The Voice is open to all ages and abil­i­ties, and there are prizes to be won.

A lot has hap­pened in the last week at the Com­mu­nity Gar­den.

The con­tainer has a ve­ran­dah, thanks to the four handy guys, and there’s now a frame for a hot house do­nated by Judy and Sue Chisholm.

A small self-wa­ter­ing wick­ing bed demon­stra­tion was also held by Ma­ree Ryan on Satur­day.

Thank you for all dona­tions of tools, mulch pot­ting mix and more, they will all be put to very good use.

Take a walk down to the gar­den, you might be able to pick some­thing for your din­ner for a small do­na­tion.

The an­nual Se­nior Cit­i­zens Christ­mas Party hosted by the Lions Club will be held on Sun­day, De­cem­ber 2, at 5.30pm for a 6pm start.

The din­ner will be held at the Ber­ri­gan Me­mo­rial Sup­per Room, and town pick up is avail­able.

Last week Ber­ri­gan Pub­lic School hosted a Mu­sica Viva event — Taikoz — a Ja­panese drum­ming per­for­mance.

Stu­dents from Urana Pub­lic and St Columba’s joined for the morn­ing.

Th­ese mu­si­cal troupes travel re­gional NSW al­low­ing our stu­dents to ac­cess high qual­ity mu­si­cal ex­pe­ri­ences.

Free gen­tle ex­er­cises are held ev­ery Mon­day and Wednes­day from 10.15am to 11am at the Madill Cen­tre.

Co-or­di­na­tor is Beth Tre­warne and she would love to see you there.

Stu­dents from St Columba's and the Pub­lic School will be head­ing down to Mel­bourne next Wednes­day to at­tend mu­si­cal ‘The School of Rock’.

Both schools have been fundrais­ing to make sure that stu­dents can all en­joy a fab­u­lous show.

Thank you to all who sup­ported Red Cross street stall; $542 was raised.

From the raf­fle, Mon­ica Ward won the voucher, Jicq Sloane claimed sec­ond prize and Iso­bel Ryan won third prize.

The United Hos­pi­tal Aux­il­iary held its meet­ing on Oc­to­ber 29, where the sausage siz­zle was well pa­tro­n­ised.

The IGA voucher was won by Rene Gra­ham and the load of wood went to Betty Bur­wood.

Mar­ian had not long re­turned from state con­fer­ence where the com­mit­tee re­ceived a cer­tifi­cate of merit for the amount of money raised per mem­ber.

Mem­bers are ad­vised the Christ­mas lun­cheon and meet­ing will be held next Mon­day, Novem­ber 26.
