Museum’s 50th birthday
The Finley and District Historical Museum was a centrepiece of recent celebrations to mark 125 years since the township of Finley was gazetted, and now it will host its own celebration.
The museum, which highlights Finley’s establishment and history, will celebrate its own 50th anniversary this weekend.
The celebrations will run from 10.30am to 3pm Saturday.
Included in the activities will be the unveiling of a special plaque, officiated by NSW Member for Murray Austin Evans and founding Finley and District Historical Museum member Henry Matheson.
And what’s a celebration facepainting for the kids?
The museum, located within the Mary Lawson Wayside Rest, is a showcase of the heritage of the Finley district and provides the opportunity to step back in time and view those items that supported the lives of our pioneering rural families.
It incorporates a large display of trucks and tractors, an old school house and other memorabilia.
The birthday event is free to attend. without
