Pok­ies, ATM tar­geted at sports club

Two peo­ple al­legedly wear­ing bal­a­clavas were re­port­edly seen at the Jer­ilderie Sports Club early Satur­day morn­ing af­ter the club’s alarm sounded.

The alarm sounded about 5.30am and, soon af­ter, wit­nesses claim to have seen two peo­ple with their faces cov­ered.

Wit­nesses say they called out, which prompted the two peo­ple to flee.

In giv­ing chase, the wit­nesses told police they were con­fronted by a man hold­ing a metal bar.

The man then got in to a grey Ford Fal­con and left the scene.

Police say the club’s poker ma­chines have coins and money miss­ing. They said there is also ev­i­dence to sug­gest the club’s ATM was the next tar­get, but could not be com­pro­mised be­fore the alarm sounded.

Busi­ness break-in

A Ber­ri­gan busi­ness was the vic­tim of an al­leged break and en­ter be­tween 5.20pm on Fri­day, Novem­ber 30 and 8am Satur­day, De­cem­ber 1.

The door to the Oak­lands Rd busi­ness was dam­aged and some ar­eas were rum­maged through, re­sult­ing in money stolen.
