It’s about relationships
Jesus said to him, ‘‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me’’.
Many people will tell us they know the way to God. They may prescribe rituals, enforce dogma or invite us along paths of self-enlightenment.
Yet, there is only one person who has invited us into an intimate relationship with our Creator.
In John 14:6, Jesus presents himself as the path to a relationship with our divine Father.
This is not a verse of condemnation, or exclusion. It is a verse of invitation and reconciliation, the reconnection with the divine love which we lost in Adam and Eve’s fall from grace.
Here, Jesus invites us to experience the unconditional love of a parent who seeks only the best for their child.
Jesus understands our struggles. As a tiny babe, he entered the human experience with us. He enjoyed friendship and knew the pain of betrayal. He felt patience and frustration, joy and sorrow, courage and fear.
In Jesus, we find a safe place to come before God. Through Jesus, we find ourselves held safe in the loving arms of our eternal parent.
