Pursuit in Finley
Police were forced to terminate a car pursuit in Finley last Thursday night when speeds of at least 120km/h were reached.
Police said they gave chase to the car when it refused to stop for a random breath test in Murray St, Finley about 10.40pm on January 10.
After conducting a u-turn, police said the car ‘‘sped south along the Newell Highway’’.
Police allege the car reached speeds of up to 120km/h while trying to avoid being stopped, during which time they say the driver overtook a truck and other vehicles and spent some time driving on the wrong side of the road.
The pursuit was abandoned for safety reasons.
