Rory is Ba­rooga dux

Ba­rooga Pub­lic School held its end-of-year pre­sen­ta­tion for its de­part­ing Year 6 stu­dents on De­cem­ber 7, with friends and fam­ily at­tend­ing de­spite the scorch­ing heat.

A host of awards were pre­sented by guests from within the Ber­ri­gan Shire com­mu­nity and NSW Mem­ber for Mur­ray Austin Evans.

Kayla Car­roll was pre­sented with the Lions Club Schol­ar­ship Award, avail­able to a stu­dent who will be at­tend­ing a pub­lic sec­ondary school next year, re­ceiv­ing $1000.

Rory Mur­doch picked up the You Can Do It! Award and also col­lected $1000.

The award is avail­able to a stu­dent at­tend­ing a pub­lic sec­ondary school next year and is do­nated by Ba­rooga Spor­ties.

It was dou­ble de­light for Rory, who was also recog­nised for his out­stand­ing aca­demic ef­forts through­out the school year and was duly crowned school dux.

The pre­sen­ta­tion day al­lowed the school to un­veil this year’s lead­ers, with Sa­van­nah Zoch and Taiten Rudd an­nounced as cap­tains.
