Rory is Barooga dux
Barooga Public School held its end-of-year presentation for its departing Year 6 students on December 7, with friends and family attending despite the scorching heat.
A host of awards were presented by guests from within the Berrigan Shire community and NSW Member for Murray Austin Evans.
Kayla Carroll was presented with the Lions Club Scholarship Award, available to a student who will be attending a public secondary school next year, receiving $1000.
Rory Murdoch picked up the You Can Do It! Award and also collected $1000.
The award is available to a student attending a public secondary school next year and is donated by Barooga Sporties.
It was double delight for Rory, who was also recognised for his outstanding academic efforts throughout the school year and was duly crowned school dux.
The presentation day allowed the school to unveil this year’s leaders, with Savannah Zoch and Taiten Rudd announced as captains.
