Big crowd for fundraiser
There was a wonderful attendance at the Australia Day breakfast, and the CWA committee was thrilled that so many people supported their major fundraiser.
The committee wish to thank IGA for donating the raffle and the Men’s Shed for help with providing tables.
Congratulations to Woody for being named 2019 Citizen of the Year and to Riley Nolen for being named Junior Citizen of the Year. Both men have done a lot for our community and the town was thrilled to hear they have both been rewarded for their contribution to our community.
This Friday night the pool will be open until 8pm, which will be fabulous for the community as the hot weather continues. Debbie Burley is going to put together some dinner specials for Friday night and will donate $1 to the pool for each order. The cafe will also deliver to the pool, so we hope to see many families there.
There were a couple of parties over the Australia Day weekend. Happy birthday to Peter Cobb who turned 70 and was given a surprise birthday party at the Community Club. A great night was had by all.
Mary Curtin celebrated her 80th birthday and Thomas Whelan turned 18. A family gathering took place and a wonderful evening was enjoyed celebrating Mary’s milestone.
