Rotary’s cash splash for pool
Finley Rotary Club has thrown its support behind a fellow local community group.
Rotary donated $1000 to the Finley Pool Committee to help pay for upgrades to the barbecue area.
Finley Rotary president Debbie Jewell said as the pool is used by many local families it was important to help support a hard working committee.
‘‘The committee has been doing some improvements to help encourage families to come down for a barbecue or a swim,’’ she said.
‘‘We thought we should chip in some money for it, as the barbecue area is great for the families who frequently use the pool over summer.
‘‘Many Rotary members use the pool, as do many of our children and grandchildren.
‘‘The pool committee works hard to maintain such as great facility in Finley.’’
Early in December Finley Rotary, in a combined effort with the Finley Football and Netball Club, donated $1150 to district governor Malcolm Kerr and his wife Jill’s Buy a Bale and rural aid project.
The Finley Rotary Club’s biggest fundraiser is coming up on Wednesday, March 27 with its traditional bowls day at the Finley Bowling Club.
