New RSC chef

Fin­ley RS Club has a new ca­ter­ing man­ager and head chef.

Tim Picker (pic­tured) has worked in the hos­pi­tal­ity in­dus­try for the past 35 years. He has trained in fine din­ing in Syd­ney and worked at ho­tels and re­sorts along the Queens­land coast.

He moved from Syd­ney to work at the Co­bram Ho­tel six years ago and also worked with KAF Fruit Sup­ply in Co­bram.

‘‘I plan­ning to move (the menu) away from fried food and in­clude sal­ads and grilled items,’’ Mr Picker said.

‘‘I want to re­move the stigma of­ten as­so­ci­ated with RSL food and en­sure cus­tomers are en­joy­ing home cooked style meals. It won’t hap­pen overnight so we’ll slowly tran­si­tion into the new menu and we will still keep our spe­cial nights avail­able for our loyal cus­tomers.’’
