Com­mu­nity golf event hits the greens Sun­day

This Sun­day, March 10 is the Com­mu­nity Golf Fun Day.

Teams of three are re­quired and the fo­cus is on busi­ness houses en­ter­ing a team.

Cost is $20 which in­cludes a bar­be­cue lunch.

If each team could bring a salad that would be ap­pre­ci­ated.

Ladies Golf has started and is held every Wed­nes­day.

As­sem­bly is 9.30am for a 10am hit off. All cur­rent and new mem­bers are wel­come.

In­ter­na­tional Women’s Day (IWD) is this Fri­day, and women will cel­e­brate around the na­tion.

For the Ber­ri­gan Shire, an IWD event will take place at the Ber­ri­gan Sports­ground.

Speaker for this year will be Glenna Thom­son, who has writ­ten two books.

The lun­cheon will start at mid­day. Please book at the li­brary.

The next film af­ter­noon will be held on Tues­day, March 12 at 1.30pm.

The film that will be shown is The Hedy La­marr Story. Bomb­shell:

It brings to light the story of an un­usual and ac­com­plished woman, spurned as too beau­ti­ful to be smart, but a role model to this day.

All are wel­come.

The next Ber­ri­gan race meet ap­proach­ing.

March 16 is the date and a fea­ture will be Fash­ions on the Field, in­clud­ing Lady of the Day, Cou­ple of the Day, Lit­tle Race­goer and Young Race­goer.

There will be chil­dren’s en­ter­tain­ment, a jump­ing cas­tle and face paint­ing, as well as live mu­sic.

Mar­quee and um­brella pack­ages are avail­able or you can book a ta­ble in the re­served mar­quee.

The Ber­ri­gan and Dis­trict De­vel­op­ment As­so­ci­a­tion will be hold­ing a Com­mu­nity Garage Sale on Satur­day, March 30.

This is great op­por­tu­nity to sell those un­wanted items you have in your back­yard.

If you are think­ing that you only have a few items to sell, ask around your friends, fam­ily or neigh­bours to see if they would like to hold a com­bined sale.

The BDDA is also plan­ning to hold a ‘Wel­come to Ber­ri­gan’ bar­be­cue at the Ber­ri­gan Com­mu­nity Club on Sun­day April 28. It will be held from mid­day.
