Community golf event hits the greens Sunday
This Sunday, March 10 is the Community Golf Fun Day.
Teams of three are required and the focus is on business houses entering a team.
Cost is $20 which includes a barbecue lunch.
If each team could bring a salad that would be appreciated.
Ladies Golf has started and is held every Wednesday.
Assembly is 9.30am for a 10am hit off. All current and new members are welcome.
International Women’s Day (IWD) is this Friday, and women will celebrate around the nation.
For the Berrigan Shire, an IWD event will take place at the Berrigan Sportsground.
Speaker for this year will be Glenna Thomson, who has written two books.
The luncheon will start at midday. Please book at the library.
The next film afternoon will be held on Tuesday, March 12 at 1.30pm.
The film that will be shown is The Hedy Lamarr Story. Bombshell:
It brings to light the story of an unusual and accomplished woman, spurned as too beautiful to be smart, but a role model to this day.
All are welcome.
The next Berrigan race meet approaching.
March 16 is the date and a feature will be Fashions on the Field, including Lady of the Day, Couple of the Day, Little Racegoer and Young Racegoer.
There will be children’s entertainment, a jumping castle and face painting, as well as live music.
Marquee and umbrella packages are available or you can book a table in the reserved marquee.

The Berrigan and District Development Association will be holding a Community Garage Sale on Saturday, March 30.
This is great opportunity to sell those unwanted items you have in your backyard.
If you are thinking that you only have a few items to sell, ask around your friends, family or neighbours to see if they would like to hold a combined sale.

The BDDA is also planning to hold a ‘Welcome to Berrigan’ barbecue at the Berrigan Community Club on Sunday April 28. It will be held from midday.
