Get a trio ready for Sun­day

Ber­ri­gan Fri­day’s win­ner was Ted Wal­liss (40-9.5-30.5) and run­ner up was Joe Ni­cholls (45-11-34).

Putting was won by Ted Wal­liss with 10 putts, and ball win­ner was Jeff Stein (44-9.5-34.5).

Satur­day’s nine hole event was won by Jeff Stein (45-9.5-35.5), run­ner up was Maria McDonell (49-12-37). Jeff Stein also won the putting with 13 putts, and ball win­ner was Ed­wina Morgan (47-9-38).

Sun­day’s 18 hole com­pe­ti­tion was a Stable­ford event and the win­ner was Thomas Whe­lan with 45 points.

Run­ner up was Jeff Stein on 41 points, and ball win­ners were Jim Wal­liss and Matthew Whe­lan both on 38 points.

Next Sun­day is a three per­son ambrose event which will be a fun day for ev­ery­one.

Hit off is at 10am. If you haven’t put a side to­gether do so now and come along and en­joy a great day.

En­try cost is $20 which in­cludes lunch. Teams are asked to bring a salad to share.

Fin­ley Leo McNa­mara carded 39 Stable­ford points to col­lect the voucher for the last of the Wed­nes­day Sum­mer Sea­son 18 hole Med­ley Com­pe­ti­tions. Doug Smith was NTP on the 18th.

Ball com­pe­ti­tion win­ners were Martin Cruick­shank (35), Ian Swain from Tas­ma­nia (34), and Anne Hard­ing and Ma­ree Doyle who each had 32 points.

In the Thurs­day af­ter­noon Nine Hole Stable­ford Com­pe­ti­tion, Bill Judd claimed the voucher with with 24 points and Rand Wil­son (22) was a ball com­pe­ti­tion win­ner.

Satur­day was Open­ing Day for the 2019 sea­son. The R&K Klemke Mixed 4BBB Stable­ford event was played with a large field of play­ers.

Eric and Joanne Dean got 47 points and won from Leo McNa­mara and Kel­lie White on 45 points who were run­ners-up af­ter count­back.

In the PWP sec­tion, Bill Judd claimed the voucher with 39 Stable­ford points.

NTP on the 13th went to Gay Hen­der­son, and Mark O’Brien on the 18th.

Ball com­pe­ti­tion win­ners were Al­lan Hand and Gay Hen­der­son (45), along with Dave Cordell and Janet Del­menico, Rob and Kath Klemke and Ian Daniel and Mar­ian Ayres who all had 44 points.

The NAGA tro­phy was col­lected by Rick Har­ris and Chris­tine Shaw.

In Sun­day’s Bil­l­abong Freight Stroke event Barry Wil­son carded 71 net and sur­vived a count­back to claim the Men’s Tro­phy. Sue Simp­son, on 80 net, took out the Ladies Tro­phy and her 30 putts gave her the Ladies Putting Tro­phy also.

NTP on the 18th went to Dar­ren John. Ball com­pe­ti­tion win­ners were Leo McNa­mara (71), Dar­ren John (72), and Tina Bell (81).

Sandie Cock­ayne and Barry Won­wood picked up NAGA Tro­phies.

SR Vets The home ground ad­van­tage came to the fore when 100 South­ern Riverina Vet­eran Golfers played their March Com­pe­ti­tion Round on the West Course at the Co­bram Ba­rooga Golf Club on Mon­day. Home club golfers col­lected all the ma­jor prizes.

Stable­ford was played and Brian Old­ham, with 36 points, took the A Grade tro­phy on count­back from David Wil­son who also had 36 points.

Lyn­ton Good­win, with 39 points, took B Grade on count­back from Mau­rice Adams who also had 39 points.

Bruce Man­ning took C Grade with 42 points, and Dean Lewis was run­ner-up with 38.

A Grade NTP went Lyn­ton Good- win (Co­bram/Ba­rooga), to Ian Duus (Yar­ra­wonga/ Mul­wala) in B Grade and Ron Bai­ley (Yar­ra­wonga/Mul­wala) in C grade. All Grades went to Bruce McCal­lum (Tocumwal).

Balls were awarded to 48 play­ers, with 29 points or bet­ter.

Tocumwal Tues­day last week saw 54 ladies play­ing Stable­ford, with Divi­sion One won by Pamela Richard­son with 39 fol­lowed by Lindy Cooper who had 34.

Divi­sion Two went to Joan Burns who had 38 pts, and run­ner-up was Mar­garet Fergeus with 37.

Divi­sion Three was won by Nola White­ford with 36 pts, fol­lowed by Carmel Butcher with 35.

NTPs went to Kerry Conrad 8th and Wendy McLeod 17th. Pro Pin went to Denise Bald­win ($54).

A full field of men played 4BBB Stable­ford from the blue mark­ers last Wed­nes­day, Bob Burns and Ron­ald Lover­sidge took the win with 52 pts, fol­lowed by Mat Wil­son and Mick Cooper with 46 on count­back from Don Mor­ri­son and Peter Stokes Snr.

Satur­day was the Mixed Four­somes Cham­pi­onship, with the top eight pairs to qual­ify.

Janie Hills and Brian Wil­son won with 71 on count­back from Mar­garet Var­ley and Michael Keen 71.

Third pair were Ja­nine Tay­lor and Paul Tay­lor with 72.

Sun­day saw 12 ladies play­ing Stroke with Divi­sion One go­ing to Su­san Bull with 69. NTP went to Kerry Conrad.

A to­tal of 86 played Monthly Medal Stroke. The Divi­sion One gross win­ner was Peter Bolt on 77. Grade and monthly medal win­ner was David Pur­till on 68 and run­ner up went to Brian Wil­son on 68.

Divi­sion Two gross and grade win­ner was Michael Keen with 88/70. Grade win­ner was Peter Quirk with 72.

Divi­sion Three gross win­ner was John Irvine on 97, grade win­ner was Wil­liam Tewn­de­son on 70, and run­ner-up was David Webb on 74.

NTPs went to Stephen Pig­gott 2nd, Adam Pur­till 17th.
