Get a trio ready for Sunday
Berrigan Friday’s winner was Ted Walliss (40-9.5-30.5) and runner up was Joe Nicholls (45-11-34).
Putting was won by Ted Walliss with 10 putts, and ball winner was Jeff Stein (44-9.5-34.5).
Saturday’s nine hole event was won by Jeff Stein (45-9.5-35.5), runner up was Maria McDonell (49-12-37). Jeff Stein also won the putting with 13 putts, and ball winner was Edwina Morgan (47-9-38).
Sunday’s 18 hole competition was a Stableford event and the winner was Thomas Whelan with 45 points.
Runner up was Jeff Stein on 41 points, and ball winners were Jim Walliss and Matthew Whelan both on 38 points.
Next Sunday is a three person ambrose event which will be a fun day for everyone.
Hit off is at 10am. If you haven’t put a side together do so now and come along and enjoy a great day.
Entry cost is $20 which includes lunch. Teams are asked to bring a salad to share.
Finley Leo McNamara carded 39 Stableford points to collect the voucher for the last of the Wednesday Summer Season 18 hole Medley Competitions. Doug Smith was NTP on the 18th.
Ball competition winners were Martin Cruickshank (35), Ian Swain from Tasmania (34), and Anne Harding and Maree Doyle who each had 32 points.
In the Thursday afternoon Nine Hole Stableford Competition, Bill Judd claimed the voucher with with 24 points and Rand Wilson (22) was a ball competition winner.
Saturday was Opening Day for the 2019 season. The R&K Klemke Mixed 4BBB Stableford event was played with a large field of players.
Eric and Joanne Dean got 47 points and won from Leo McNamara and Kellie White on 45 points who were runners-up after countback.
In the PWP section, Bill Judd claimed the voucher with 39 Stableford points.
NTP on the 13th went to Gay Henderson, and Mark O’Brien on the 18th.
Ball competition winners were Allan Hand and Gay Henderson (45), along with Dave Cordell and Janet Delmenico, Rob and Kath Klemke and Ian Daniel and Marian Ayres who all had 44 points.
The NAGA trophy was collected by Rick Harris and Christine Shaw.
In Sunday’s Billabong Freight Stroke event Barry Wilson carded 71 net and survived a countback to claim the Men’s Trophy. Sue Simpson, on 80 net, took out the Ladies Trophy and her 30 putts gave her the Ladies Putting Trophy also.
NTP on the 18th went to Darren John. Ball competition winners were Leo McNamara (71), Darren John (72), and Tina Bell (81).
Sandie Cockayne and Barry Wonwood picked up NAGA Trophies.
SR Vets The home ground advantage came to the fore when 100 Southern Riverina Veteran Golfers played their March Competition Round on the West Course at the Cobram Barooga Golf Club on Monday. Home club golfers collected all the major prizes.
Stableford was played and Brian Oldham, with 36 points, took the A Grade trophy on countback from David Wilson who also had 36 points.
Lynton Goodwin, with 39 points, took B Grade on countback from Maurice Adams who also had 39 points.
Bruce Manning took C Grade with 42 points, and Dean Lewis was runner-up with 38.
A Grade NTP went Lynton Good- win (Cobram/Barooga), to Ian Duus (Yarrawonga/ Mulwala) in B Grade and Ron Bailey (Yarrawonga/Mulwala) in C grade. All Grades went to Bruce McCallum (Tocumwal).
Balls were awarded to 48 players, with 29 points or better.
Tocumwal Tuesday last week saw 54 ladies playing Stableford, with Division One won by Pamela Richardson with 39 followed by Lindy Cooper who had 34.
Division Two went to Joan Burns who had 38 pts, and runner-up was Margaret Fergeus with 37.
Division Three was won by Nola Whiteford with 36 pts, followed by Carmel Butcher with 35.
NTPs went to Kerry Conrad 8th and Wendy McLeod 17th. Pro Pin went to Denise Baldwin ($54).
A full field of men played 4BBB Stableford from the blue markers last Wednesday, Bob Burns and Ronald Loversidge took the win with 52 pts, followed by Mat Wilson and Mick Cooper with 46 on countback from Don Morrison and Peter Stokes Snr.
Saturday was the Mixed Foursomes Championship, with the top eight pairs to qualify.
Janie Hills and Brian Wilson won with 71 on countback from Margaret Varley and Michael Keen 71.
Third pair were Janine Taylor and Paul Taylor with 72.
Sunday saw 12 ladies playing Stroke with Division One going to Susan Bull with 69. NTP went to Kerry Conrad.
A total of 86 played Monthly Medal Stroke. The Division One gross winner was Peter Bolt on 77. Grade and monthly medal winner was David Purtill on 68 and runner up went to Brian Wilson on 68.
Division Two gross and grade winner was Michael Keen with 88/70. Grade winner was Peter Quirk with 72.
Division Three gross winner was John Irvine on 97, grade winner was William Tewndeson on 70, and runner-up was David Webb on 74.
NTPs went to Stephen Piggott 2nd, Adam Purtill 17th.
