Three Finley schoolgirls are set to compete at the Pony Club Victoria (PCV) Dressage State Championships next month.

The Griffiths sisters — Bianca, Caitlin and Sophie — qualified after a successful PCV Northern Zone qualifying series recently.

Bianca (10 years-old) was the Grade 4 Zone Dressage Champion, while 13 yearold Caitlin ( Grade 3) and 15 year-old Sophie (Grade 2) were also their respective grade Zone Dressage Champions.

The PCV Northern Zone comprises of three events at three different venues across Southern NSW and Northern Victoria.

At the end of the three events the Griffiths’ girls were the highest point scorers.

‘‘It’s an amazing feat for three sisters to all be the Zone Champions at once,’’ their mother Tammy said.

The girls also competed at the Victorian All Welsh show on the first weekend of December at Tatura Park Equestrian Centre.

They competed over the three days with strong results.

Bianca, on board her pony ‘Wyann Tic Toc’, won all classes in Show Hunter and Child’s Pony, and was awarded Champion First Ridden Pony.

Caitlin, with ‘Rhyl Grorgette’, also placed in every class and was thrilled to be awarded Champion Part Welsh.

‘‘The girls are very excited to be part of these teams with their friends and look forward to a great weekend representing the Northern zone,’’ Tammy said.

The PCV Dressage State Championships will be held on April 6 in Gladysdale.

The event was originally scheduled for February, but was postponed due to the recent bushfires in Victoria.
