Finley cattle report:
It was a mixed bag of cattle at the Finley sale, with not a lot of weight across the yard, although there was a small run of excellent supplementary fed yearlings and a small number of vealers. The balance of the yard was store conditioned cattle.
A few local producers were active on the lighter weighted stock, as feed lotters picked through the better bred lines of heavier yearlings. Prices lifted on all finished cattle to the trade and cow prices increased by 20c to 40c/kg on a fortnight ago. The best of the B muscled supplementary fed vealers made to 330c/kg.
The B and C muscled supplementary fed yearling steers sold from 295c to 330c/kg.
The feeder steer portion over 330kg lwt made from 210c to 257c/kg. The yearling heifers supplementary fed made to 328c/kg.
The 400-500kg steers reached 302c/kg. The 500-600kg steers made to 274c/kg. Only 96 cows were offered, with the C4 beef cows making to 212c/kg. The heavy Friesian cows made to 190c/kg.
