10th tee honour for Bob
The Berrigan Community Club is delighted to honour the late Bob Barnett, with a Memorial Tee named in his honour on the 10th hole.
Bobby was a great worker for the club for many years.
Make sure you go and have a look at the sign and special thanks to Burley’s for providing the sign.
The Community Garden is growing giants — come along and join the group for lunch on Tuesday, May 7 to find out more.
To celebrate its first birthday, members of the Community Garden will serve up pumpkin and trombone zucchini soup, sausages in bread, and billy tea.
As for the giants, check out the giant pumpkins and see one member’s experiments with giant bales (wheat and maize), turning them into garden beds.
Tidy Towns Committee advises that due to vandalism in the Bird Hide at the Tank Paddock, it will be temporarily closed for repairs.
On a happier note, the group is looking for an original photo of what used to be the grandstand at ‘The Old Rec’. The group already has a sketch.

The winner of the Berrigan Show wood raffle last Friday was David O’Dwyer.

The Berrigan and District Development Association will be hosting a ‘Welcome to Berrigan’ barbecue at the Berrigan Community Club on Sunday, April 28 from midday.

Casting night will take place on Monday, April 29 at the hall.
Show dates are Saturday, August 3, Sunday, August 4 (matinee), Friday, August 9 and Saturday, August 10.
Easter is just a few days away and the Berrigan Community Club will be hosting free fun day in support of our drought affected farmers and community.
At 11am on Easter Sunday there will be an Easter egg hunt, a free barbecue from 12.30pm and live entertainment from Mark Haze from 1pm.
Golf and bowls will be available all day for all ages, all levels and everyone is welcome.
For catering purposes please register your attendance to the club on 5885 2229.
The Community Club held a social golf/ bowls day last Sunday.
There were seven teams who enjoyed the variety of nine holes and golf and then a roll of bowls.
Winners were Barry Hawker and Billy Bucket, and runners up were Thomas Whelan, Jan Dorman and Julie Bortoli.
The Berrigan Children’s Centre will hold an Easter egg hunt and hat parade today, at the centre from 3pm. All families and friends of the centre are welcome.
The Berrigan Football Netball Club will play Tocumwal this Friday, at Tocumwal.
This is always a big game and Berrigan will be looking for a win in front of a big crowd, so come along and support the footballers and netballers.
Memberships are now due. Senior player $150, reserves and junior players $100 (NSW Active Kids Voucher is claimable), single non-player $90, netballer $60, pensioner $40 and patron $300.

On April 23 there will a school holiday activity — ‘String, Balls and Button Bowls’. Sounds like a great way to fill in a couple of hours.

Congratulations to Lachlan Whelan and Josh Monteath from St Columba’s who came first in their age group for the Cross Country Deanery Carnival last Tuesday at Tocumwal.
Josh and Lachlan will be busy training over the holidays in readiness to participate at the next level in Holbrook.
There will be an Ecumenical Good Friday service starting at Amaroo Aged Care at 11am.
The service will include a short walk around stopping at different places for three or four stations, finishing at St Aidan’s Anglican Church.
Everyone is welcome, so please come and join with us on this most sacred day of the year.
Anzac Day will be next Thursday and to honour this special day Dawmac has put a display in its window, courtesy of Berrigan Heritage Museum.
