Car collides with cow
A full contingent of emergency services responded to a car crash near Finley on Thursday night, after a car collided with an adult Angus cow.
A 60 year-old man was driving toward Finley on Blighty Rd, with two passengers — a 50 year-old woman and a 60 year-old woman.
The driver told emergency services his vision was impaired by the headlights of an oncoming car, and he did not see the blackcoloured cow on the road.
He hit the cow about 6.20pm, near the Tuppal Rd turnoff, killing it.
NSW Ambulance paramedics, Finley NSW Fire & Rescue, Police and the Rural Fire Service all attended.
The driver and his passengers were all treated by paramedics at the scene, after which the two women were transferred to Finley Hospital for overnight observation.
Diesel spill
A large quantity of diesel, reportedly leaked from a truck, was spilled at Jerilderie Caltex last Wednesday.
The spill was reported at 5.35pm.
The diesel ran about 100m along the cement and filled a nearby gutter.
Jerilderie NSW Fire & Rescue unit used sand to soak up the spill, and to create a barrier to prevent the spill reaching the nearby creek.
The Murrumbidgee Council cleared the sand the following day.
