Knitted squares ready to be counted

- Leonie Cardillo

Knitted squares and rugs are now being collected from the community and counted for the Wrap With Love program.

Please bring your completed squares to the Tocumwal Library by September 9.

Wrap with Love is a not-for-profit organisation creating knitted wraps to be distributed around Australia and the world to those in need.

Each year a group of generous knitters in our community work away at knitting squares to be sent away and made into these blankets.

A Wrap With Love blanket is made up of 28 of these squares, 25cm x 25cm, sewn together to a total size of 100cm x 175cm once completed.

Well done to everyone involved in this great cause.

We look forward to hearing about the total number of squares made for 2022!

Tocumwal’s Rural Fire Service brigade is kicking off a recruitment drive and needs your help. There are several firefighter positions to fill within the team of community-minded men and women.

They are especially interested to hear from you if you have some level of daytime availability.

The on-call nature of the role means it works around your current schedule.

While there is some commitment for your initial training, once complete, the role is flexible and the amount of time you can commit to the brigade is up to you.

If you have any questions, call or email Dean on 0418 688 894 or Keleherd052@gmail.com.
