Turn to God

- Dear Editor,

Today we are hearing so much about ‘The Voice’ - a new body to be formed to represent the voice of the First Peoples to Parliament.

I must say I am neither for nor against this voice, but it did remind me of a voice once spoken of that came out of the desert.

John the Baptist went out into the desert to preach repentance to the Jews, baptizing them into the faith.

His message was “Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand”.

This voice announced the New Kingdom, which was to be established through the death and resurrection of Christ. This is the voice that needs to be heard across our nation today.

We are living in the end times. Matthew’s 24:7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.

There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.

All these are the beginning of birth pains. We all know that birth pains get more intense and closer in interval as the labour proceeds.

In September 2001, the World Trade Centre which was a symbol of America’s global financial and economic pre-eminence collapsed.

That day God removed their crown, and the fall of the great empire began.

Seven years later we saw billions wiped from the stock market when the Lehman Brothers were declared bankrupt, wiping $129 billion from the stock market.

The effect of that crash is still felt today. Nineteen years after 9/11 we experienced a global pandemic, where millions of lives were lost across the world.

The number 19 is the biblical number for judgement.

Since 2019 we have seen fires, floods, earthquakes, wars, rumours of wars and much more.

In 2017, in Australia, the definition of marriage was changed in Australia to allow homosexual marriage.

In the last five years since that momentous change, we have seen huge and rapid changes in what is deemed acceptable in society.

Our society is on a downhill spiral.

As a society we have abandoned everything God said was good and now we even call good evil and evil good.

There is a spiritual connection between the Creator and the land where people dwell.

All prosperity and blessing come upon the land and its people when we walk in obedience to God, but when we go our own way we are subject to the curse.

We hear on the news that things will get better in 2023 or 2024, but that is not the truth.

The truth is things will continue to deteriorate in the world until people realise their personal need for God.

We are fast approaching another seven-year anniversary of 9/11.

This message is not meant to bring fear, but is meant as a warning and an opportunity for everyone.

God promises to protect his children, those who put their trust in him.

Jesus promises he will provide for and shelter those who love him and hate evil.

It’s time to ‘Turn to God’; he is our only hope for restoration of our world.

Yours etc. Jacqueline Robertson Jerilderie
