Jockey up for Jerilderie Gold Cup Races

Hold onto your hats, get out your finest attire and be ready to be wowed at this year’s Jerilderie Gold Cup Races.

With a few new initiatives this year, there’s plenty more reasons to come along and join the fun.

The famous Jerilderie Gold Cup will be held Saturday, September 24 at the Jerilderie Racecourse.

Gates are open from 11am to 8pm, with entry $25 for adults. Children 17 and under get in free.

As it is the same day as the AFL grand final, the big game will be available on a big screen.

A competition will be held for the under-13s best dressed football fan, to be held at half-time.

The transport options have also been improved this year.

The courtesy bus will operate around Jerilderie as usual, and buses will also be available from surrounding towns.

The bus service from Tocumwal, via Finley, leaves Tocumwal at 11am and Finley at 11.30am. The return bus leaves at 6.15pm.

Other highlights of the day include full bar and catering, and free entertainment for the kids.

There is an undercover bookies ring with local and interstate TAB betting available.

Fashions on the field is always a crowd pleaser with cash prizes on offer and will include: Miss Trendsetter, Classic Lady of the Day, Man of the Track, Lady of the Track, Race Stopping Millinery and Couple of the Day.

You can also support the Jerilderie Race Club by buying a ticket in the 100 club draw, with more than $4000 in prizes up for grabs.
