Berrigan Show back this Sunday
The Berrigan Show is set to return with a day of fun for everyone on Sunday after a COVID-19 enforced hiatus.
Berrigan Show Society secretary Lyndall Horne said the committee was confident of the 122nd Annual Berrigan Show being a huge success, with entries in all sections strong.
“After two years of cancellations, we’re very excited to be holding the Berrigan Show again,” Mrs Horne said.
“We’ve had really good interest in our horse events; we're known as a premium horse show, so we’re rapt with the stable bookings for both the hack rings and show jumping.”
Mrs Horne said the committee had organised entertainment for attendees of every age, so there would be something for everyone at the 2022 Berrigan Show.
“I encourage all locals to come along, as we have a great line up of paid entertainment for people to enjoy,” she said.
Gates open to the public at 6am for this year’s Berrigan Show.
The cost of admission is: adults $15; children 10-16 years $5; aged pensioners (with card) $5; and children under 10 years free.
The 122nd Berrigan Show official opening will take place at 2.30pm, with 2022 National Rural Ambassador Dione Howard a special guest.
Included in the opening is the announcement of Berrigan’s entrant in The Land Sydney Royal AgShows, NSW Young Woman and VASL Junior Show Ambassador.
All entries for the Berrigan Show close at 5pm on Friday, September 30, at the Show Office (Berrigan Showgrounds).
The only exceptions to this are:
• Class K Poultry: Closed September 20;
• Class T Photography: Closes 5pm today (Wednesday, September 28); and
• Class I Fleeces: Closes 5pm tomorrow (Thursday, September 29).
Exhibitor entries are to be delivered to the pavilion between 9.30am and noon Saturday, unless otherwise stated in the relevant section of the show schedule.
On show day, the secretary's office opens at 6.30am and horse ring action gets underway from 9am.
From 9.30am, pavilion entries are judged and the pavilion opens at 10am, along with judging for poultry, sheep and goat entries commences.
From 10.30am, the Festival of Wheels ‘People Choice’ will begin.
Show day competition entries for the Beaut Utes, Truck Show 'n Shine, Beaut Esky, Decorated Wheelbarrow, Decorated Gumboots and Decorated Bike competition close about the same time, with judging from 11am.
All other activities begin at 11am, which the entertainment including Black Snake Productions, 3 Under Par, Hay Ho Animal Nursery, Professor Wallace’s Puppet Theatre, Cheeky Smiles Face Painting, Kidz Zone, Dutch Thunder Wildlife Rescue and The Balancing Man.
The pet parade judging will take place at noon near the netball courts, and at 1pm the Junior Show Goers judging starts in front of the grand stand.
Junior Show Goers sections include: Miss and
Master Tiny Tot, Miss Spring, Master Stockman, Miss Junior, Miss Teenager, Miss Intermediate and the RM Williams RAS Rural Achiever Award.
At 4pm the $100 lucky gate prize will be drawn at the secretary's office and the pavilion will close. Exhibits and trophies can be collected between 4.30pm and 5.30pm.
