Rain floods parts of Jerilderie

- Judy Ryan

We may yet have to build an ark.

Following the thunderstorm and heavy rains on Saturday afternoon, Jerilderie’s gutters were unable to cope with the sheer volume of water. Many Jerilderie homes had lakes in front of their houses and pools in every low-lying area in their gardens. The bowling greens at the Sports Club were inundated and the golf course is still severely impacted by the wet. By Sunday morning the gutters were clear again and people were mopping up from water damage caused to their homes and businesses.

Then it all started again on Sunday afternoon with more thunderstorms. Don’t put the mops away just yet.
