Champions announced as floods suspend play

Jerilderie Golf Club held its presentati­on night on Friday.

This was well supported, even though a lot could not make it due to floods.

The results for 2022 are as follows.

Ladies:

Ladies Club Champion - Denise Boland. A-grade Champion - Denise Boland. B-grade Champion - Daz Keating.

C-grade Champion - Felicite Aull.

Medal of Medallist - Loretta Lewis.

Eclectic Winner - Denise Boland.

Men:

Men’s Club Champion - Laurie Blackmore. A-grade Champion - Laurie Blackmore. B-grade Champion - Aaron Purcell.

C-grade Champion - Brett Boland. Captain’s Cup Winner - Carson Thomas. Best Scratch Score - David Hercus.

Best Handicap Score - Wayne Neilson.

Best Stableford Score - David Leeds.

The award presentati­ons were followed by dinner, with everyone enjoying the company.

It has been some time since we have played golf, and it will be some time before the Billabong will let us again.

It has been a very busy time for all our volunteers and workers trying to save our course and we thank them all.

Tocumwal

The Tocumwal Golf Club hosted the 55th National Left Handers Championsh­ip with 130 players coming from all over Australia and New Zealand.

Men’s winner: Matthew Thomas 71, 73, 73, 73 - total 290.

Ladies winner: Di Wolfe 88, 97, 86, 87 - total 358. On Tuesday, November 15, the ladies played par on the Captain’s course.

Division 1: Michelle Pearce +3, R/U Patricia Small +2, 3rd Helen Crilly -1.

Division 2: Anna Castles +2, R/U Libby Quick +2, 3rd Joanne Ryan +2.

Division 3: Grace Deverela +6, R/U Robyn Benbow +3, 3rd Sue Lawson +2.

Gold Division: Mary McMahon 35 points. NTPs: 2nd Helen Crilly, 8th Kaye Bourke, 17th Rochelle Droop.

On Wednesday, November 16, the men played stableford on the Captain’s course and congratula­tions to Shane Halloran for a holein-one on the 14th.

Division 1: Randall Jakeman 35 points, R/U Daryl Nalder 34 points, 3rd Trevor McCaw 34 points.

Division 2: Denis Myers 41 points, R/U Ross Clark 38 points, 3rd Jeffrey Davies 35 points.

Division 3: Geoffrey Hanns 38 points, R/U Paul Crick 36 points, 3rd Clinton Knight 35 points.

Division 4: John Scandrett 37 points, R/U Alan Leggate 37 points, 3rd Billy Greig 35 points. Gold Division: Leonard Redfern 38 points. NTPs: 2nd John Crilly; 8th Philip Cheesewrig­ht; 14th Shane Halloran; 17th Bennie Benbow.

Hole-in-one: Shane Halloran, Captain’s 14th. Eagle’s Nest: Jason Bannam, Captain’s 12th. The competitio­n of the day on Saturday was stableford 4BBB on the President’s course.

Ladies winners were Cheryl Hart and Faye Miller on 46 points, with runners-up Janie Hills and Margaret Murphy on 41.

Men’s winners were Ronald Huy and Randell

Jakeman on 46 points. Runners-up were Daryl Nalder and Alan Micholowsk­y on 44.

NTPs: 2nd Patricia Small and Grant Stewart; 8th Cheryl Hart and John Thompson; 14th Patricia Small and Ronald Huy; 17th Lynne Parry and Peter Reid.

Sunday was a medley two person ambrose stroke event played on the Captain’s course from the white tees.

Winners were Michael Cooper and Aaron Dale on 64.25. Runners-up were Kevin Dunn and Kevin Dunn Snr on 64.25.

NTPs: 2nd Helen Crilly and Michael Cooper; 8th Geoff Quick; 14th Darren Rowe; 18th Tracey Shalders and John Crilly.

Finley

Four brave ladies fronted for Wednesday's V Par competitio­n sponsored by Angel's Be Hair Studio.

They were pleasantly surprised by the condition of the course after all the rain.

The daily winner was Mary Polkinghor­ne (-2) and ball winner was Janet Delmenico (-5 c/b).

The men's stableford competitio­n was sponsored by Strategic Wealth.

The winner was Priuljith Cu with a very tidy 35 points c/b.

Ball winners were Rob Singleton on 35 and Norm Pyle on 33 points.

NTP on the18th was Barry Wilson.

Saturday was the Medal of Medals sponsored by Finley Palm Motor Inn.

Division 1 winner was Colin McNamara with 79/8/68.

Division 2 was taken out by Priuljith Cu with 91/22/69.

Ball winners were Sam Singleton 82/10/72,

Brett Murphy 83/11/72, Grant Wilson 90/8/72 and Rob Singleton 92/19/73.

NTP on the 18th was Priuljith Cu.

Medal of Medal scratch and nett winner was Colin McNamara.

Ladies winner was Sharon Pyle with 87/15/72.

Ball winner was Mary Polkinghor­ne 94/21/73 and putting went to to Beth White with 29 putts.

Sunday’s stableford round sponsored by Strategic Wealth was a medley.

The winner was Norm Pyle on 33 points. Ball winner was Billy Smith with 31 points c/b, and NTP on the 18th was Ray Healey.
