Falcons end on a high
The 2015 Peel Football League finals came to a close on Sunday, as the South Mandurah Falcons defeated the Waroona Demons by 19 points at Bendigo Bank Stadium in Mandurah.
The Falcons continued their strong season, after winning the minor premiership, and overpowered the Demons to finish 84-65.
South Mandurah also finished the league season with two of their players, Bradley Holmes and Samuel Hart, in second and fourth spot for leading goal kickers.
Two Demons players also made the top five, with Alan Wilson and Adam Clancy taking the third and fifth spots. Halls Head’s Marc Re was the league’s number one goal kicker, after scoring 69 goals in 19 games for 2015.
South Mandurah also dominated the stats in the other divisions. Star player Clinton Heal took the number one spot for goal kickers in the reserves on 58 goals in 21 games and Brody Wemm had an impressive season, finishing up as the leader in the under-20 colts with 71 goals.
Local footballer Phillip Taylor plays for Baldivis and was second best goal kicker in the reserves competition, with 45 goals in 18 games and teammate Daniel Schrelber-Wood finished fifth on 34.
