Fal­cons end on a high

The 2015 Peel Football League fi­nals came to a close on Sun­day, as the South Man­durah Fal­cons de­feated the Wa­roona De­mons by 19 points at Bendigo Bank Sta­dium in Man­durah.

The Fal­cons con­tin­ued their strong sea­son, af­ter win­ning the mi­nor premier­ship, and over­pow­ered the De­mons to fin­ish 84-65.

South Man­durah also fin­ished the league sea­son with two of their play­ers, Bradley Holmes and Sa­muel Hart, in sec­ond and fourth spot for lead­ing goal kick­ers.

Two De­mons play­ers also made the top five, with Alan Wil­son and Adam Clancy tak­ing the third and fifth spots. Halls Head’s Marc Re was the league’s num­ber one goal kicker, af­ter scor­ing 69 goals in 19 games for 2015.

South Man­durah also dom­i­nated the stats in the other di­vi­sions. Star player Clin­ton Heal took the num­ber one spot for goal kick­ers in the re­serves on 58 goals in 21 games and Brody Wemm had an im­pres­sive sea­son, fin­ish­ing up as the leader in the un­der-20 colts with 71 goals.

Lo­cal foot­baller Phillip Tay­lor plays for Bal­divis and was sec­ond best goal kicker in the re­serves com­pe­ti­tion, with 45 goals in 18 games and team­mate Daniel Schrel­ber-Wood fin­ished fifth on 34.
