Baldivis claim ninth straight win
The Brumbies are now eight points clear at the top of the Peel Football League after serving up yet another massive win, this time over Halls Head on Saturday.
With nine straight victories at the halfway mark of the season, Baldivis look unstoppable as they cruise to the finals.
Halls Head began the game at Baldivis Oval strongly, kicking ahead 3.4 to the Brumbies 1.3 in the first quarter.
They remained 12 points in front as they headed into the half-time break but a fired-up Brumbies side emerged from the locker room and the tide began to turn.
A seven-goal third-quarter effort and another five in the final term let Baldivis see the game out with a 38-point win.
Halls Head could only manage four goals for the second half, remaining in second spot on the ladder after the 17.12 (114) to 11.10 (76) defeat.
Baldivis had nine goal kickers, including Jacob Brownley and Daniel Kimberley, who bagged five goals each.
Rockingham Rams fought bravely in their match against South Mandurah on Sunday.
But they could not hold them off, going down by 19 points at Anniversary Park.
The Rams had a 10-point lead heading into half time but the Falcons kicked away to finish the game 10.10 (72) to Rockingham’s 8.5 (53).
Kyle Hinchcliffe led the way for the Rams with three goals, while Shaun Norman kicked two and was named in the side’s best players.
Round 10 next week will see both teams play on Sunday, with Rockingham to face a tough battle with Halls Head and the Brumbies take on Mandurah once again at Bendigo Bank Stadium.
