Heartfelt thanks for all the caring people of WA

Southern Telegraph - - Telegraph Opinion - Jayne Barthorpe, c/o R. and V. Lever, Waikiki

As a visitor from Canada to this lovely country and beautiful State I feel it necessary to record my sincere and heartfelt thanks to the staff of Rockingham Hospital, the people of WA, and indeed, to everyone in this country, filled I believe with people of true compassion.

I came here during February, principally to care for my parents, both in their 90s, and with my mother suffering a debilitating illness. However, during the weekend of March 31 I developed severe stomach pains and went to the emergency section of the local hospital, where I was immediately treated with loving care and attention.

My problems were diagnosed and I was treated to the very best of professional attention by doctors, nurses, and all other staff. I was discharged on Thursday, and plan to return home to Canada later this month.

My lasting memories of this episode of my life, and I am 69 years old, will be of the wonderful health service available to Australians and visitors, and my very best wishes are offered to all.
