LITERACY PROGRAM TURNS 40
Construction of a new state-of-the-art shipbuilding facility in Henderson is starting this week.
Civmec announced late last year it planned to spend $80 million on a 29,000sqm, 20-storey high, purposebuilt ship and module construction and ship-repair and maintenance facility. The Henderson company is in the running to win a considerable portion of the $3 billion offshore patrol vessel program allocated to WA in the Defence White Paper.
Minister for Defence Industry Christopher Pyne was expected to attend a sod-turning ceremony today.
