Karnup rail pledge

Southern Telegraph - - Telegraph Opinion - Paul Papalia Member for Warnbro

I am writing in response to recent misinformation regarding railway stations on the Mandurah line.

I can confirm the McGowan Government is committed to the Karnup station on Paganoni Road, near Golden Bay, commencing in 2020 and opening in 2022 as promised before the election. WA Labor did not commit to building a station at Lakelands before the election.

However, a station at Lakelands may be considered as part of the future stages of the Metronet project.

The Liberal Party made no promises of any kind in respect to public transport in Kwinana, Rockingham and Mandurah before the election.

Residents of the southern suburbs can always rely on WA Labor to deliver Metronet and improve public transport services.

Shoalwater resident Steve Parkins captured this stunning image of Palm Beach Jetty in Rockingham recently.
